The Indian rupee declined against the U.S. dollar in later deals
on Monday, as regional stocks declined.
Caution ahead of derivative contract expiry on Thursday and the
Union Budget to be unveiled on Saturday dragged down Indian
shares.
While the benchmark index BSE Sensex finished the session down
by 256.30 points or 0.88 percent to 28,975.11, the broader CNX
Nifty index fell 78.65 points or 0.89 percent to 8,754.95.
The rupee that closed Friday's trading at 62.2910 against the
greenback slipped to a 4-day low of 62.3255. If the rupee extends
slide, 63.00 is seen as its next support level.
