IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Edwards
Lifesciences Corporation (NYSE: EW), the global leader in the
science of heart valves and hemodynamic monitoring, announced today
that it will increase its global corporate giving in 2014 to
support a strong launch of Edwards Lifesciences Foundation's new
charitable initiative, Every Heartbeat Matters, and to improve the
global communities where its employees live and work.
In 2014, Edwards' global corporate giving will exceed
$8 million, including more than
$7 million in cash grants from
Edwards Lifesciences Foundation to non-profit organizations around
the world. The majority of its charitable investments will support
Every Heartbeat Matters and its goal that, by 2020, its

by supporting the education, screening and treatment of one million
underserved people. Additionally, the foundation's employee
matching gift program is becoming a more substantial proportion of
its annual grants.
"Giving is a core part of our culture and we were proud that
more than 70 percent of our 9,000 global employees participate in
some form of charitable giving each year," said Michael A. Mussallem, chairman and CEO, Edwards
Lifesciences. "It's rewarding to know that we are touching people's
lives around the world not only through foundation grants, but also
through our employees generously donating their time and talents to
help those in need."
Foundation grant recipients will be recognized throughout the
remainder of the year at receptions around the world in the
communities where employees live and work. Since its inception in
2004, the foundation has gifted more than $36 million to non-profit organizations.
