Citigroup Inc. has named James von Moltke as its treasurer,
effective immediately.
Chief Financial Officer John Gerspach said in a memo Thursday
that a search is under way to replace Mr. von Moltke as global head
of financial planning and analysis, a post he has held since
2012.
Mr. von Moltke joined Citigroup in 2009 as head of corporate
mergers and acquisitions, working on such divestitures as the
spinoff of life insurance business Primerica. He was previously
with Morgan Stanley.
In March, Citigroup said Treasurer Eric Aboaf was leaving to
become chief financial officer of Rhode Island-based regional
lender Citizens Financial Group Inc.
"James will be responsible for our continuing efforts to reshape
Citi's balance sheet to optimize assets, funding, liquidity and
capital in a changing economic and regulatory environment," Mr.
Gerspach wrote. "He will also help drive business revenues through
effective management of our net interest margin."
