Starbucks Corp. Chief Executive Howard Schultz's total
compensation was valued at $20.1 million for fiscal 2015, down from
$21.5 million a year earlier.
Starbucks said in its proxy filing that Mr. Schultz and other
top executives earned awards above their targets in the executive
management bonus plan because of the company's strong
performance.
For the year ended Sept. 27, 2015, Starbucks posted a 35%
increase in earnings per share, as revenue rose 17% to $19.16
billion.
Last week, Starbucks said investments in mobile technology and
strong sales of Christmas merchandise helped the coffee chain post
better-than-expected first-quarter earnings. But its outlook for
the current quarter disappointed investors.
Mr. Schultz's non-equity incentive plan compensation rose to $4
million from $2.9 million. His base salary remained at $1.5
million. The other major compensation components were $7.5 million
of stock awards and $6.9 million of option awards.
