CME CME Group Inc

The CME Group Inc. (CME) has queried traders recently about the viability of opening a cocoa futures contract to compete with IntercontinentalExchange Group Inc. (ICE), Reuters reported Friday, citing two traders whose firms have been approached by the Chicago-based exchange.

Talks are at an early stage, the traders said, with one noting that CME Europe has invited about 20 companies to a briefing in London later this month where an overview of the proposed cocoa contract is expected to be presented.
