Mr. Gruder could jeopardize our business operations and exhaust the Company’s cash reserve, which may result in investors losing their entire investment.

The Company has been responding to an investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”), which commenced in December 2004. In connection with the investigation, the Company received a “Wells Notice” from the SEC indicating that the staff intends to recommend that the SEC institute an action against the Company, alleging that the Company violated Section 10(b) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and Rule 10b-5 thereunder and Sections 5(a), 5(c), and 17(a) of the securities Act of 1933. The proposed allegations relate to purported representations that the Company made about one of the Company’s products regarding when the Company would be shipping the product, the product’s status with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, the performance of the product, and where the Company’s stock was trading. The allegations further related to the lack of registration for sales of stock in late 2004, made by three individuals who were not officers, directors, or employees of the Company. Under the Wells process established by the SEC, the Company has been provided an opportunity to respond in writing before the staff makes a formal recommendation to the SEC regarding any action. On May 1, 2008, the SEC announced that the Honorable Willis B. Hunt, United States District Judge for the Northern District of Georgia, entered a Final Judgment as to Defendant Stinger Systems, Inc. The Company was enjoined from future violations of Section 10(b) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and Rule 10b-5 thereunder. The Company consented to the entry of the final judgment without admitting or denying any of the allegations of the Commission’s Complaint. The Complaint, filed on January 28, 2008, alleged that from October 2004 through March 2005, the Company and its president, Robert F. Gruder, made a series of fraudulent material misrepresentations and omissions regarding the Company’s “flagship” stun gun product. According to the Complaint, the misrepresentations consisted of press releases and direct mailings to thousands of law enforcement officers and agencies, suggesting that Stinger was manufacturing, selling and shipping its stun gun. In fact, the product was still in the development phase. The Complaint further alleged that the misrepresentations consisted of statements on the Company’s website and/or in industry publications that indicated the Company’s stock was trading on NASDAQ, when in fact it was not. The Complaint also alleged that the Company and Mr. Gruder misrepresented that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (“ATF”) certified the Company’s stun gun, even though the ATF offered no such certification. According to the Complaint, these misrepresentations caused a spike in the trading volume and price for the Company’s shares once it began publicly trading in November 2004. The charges in the Complaint against Mr. Gruder have not been settled and a judgment adverse to Mr. Gruder could jeopardize our business operations and exhaust the Company’s cash reserve, which may result in investors losing their entire investment.

(OTC Bulletin Board: STYS), a leader in electro-stun technology today announced that the Henry County Police Department has purchased 90 Stinger S-200 AT Electronic Immobilization Devices. Henry County is located just southwest of Atlanta.

Lt. Chuck Simmons stated, "The Henry County Police Department has extensively studied the Stinger S-200 AT. We were extremely pleased by the ECD's immobilization ability. The S-200 AT is truly a state of the art product that I believe is in the best interests of all departments to carry."

Major Danny Butler stated, "As a result of all the controversy I decided to get shot with the Stinger. After that experience I feel the Stinger will provide this department with a valuable alternative to deadly force at a great monetary saving to the County."

We therefore decided to switch from using the Taser brand device to the Stinger brand."

TAMPA, Fla., May 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Stinger Systems, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: STYS), a leader in electro-stun technology today announced that the Firebaugh Police Department in California has purchased Stinger S-200 AT Electronic Immobilization Devices.

Chief Elsa Lopez stated, "When the department found out there was an alternative to Tasers, we felt that we had a responsibility to our citizens and police officers to take a look at it. Having reviewed the features and capabilities of the S-200 AT as well as having several officers immobilized by Stinger's S-200 during a demonstration, we concluded that the S-200 AT is utilizing state of the art technology for Electronic Control Devices. We liked the fact that the Stinger puts less electrical current into the body than the Taser. Not only does the S-200 AT meet our requirements, it also is a great economic decision for our tax payers based on Stinger's significantly lower price and their flex purchase program. We therefore, decided to take advantage of Stinger's superior product while stretching our purchase out over several budget cycles."

Marshall County Sheriff's Office to Purchase Stinger S-200s

TAMPA, Fla., Sept 03, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Stinger Systems, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: STIY), a leader in electro-stun technology today announced that the Marshall County Sheriff's Office in Oklahoma will be purchasing Stinger S-200 projectile stun devices.

Deputy Danny Cryer of Marshall County Sheriff's Office stated, "Myself and another officer from the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, along with over 25 officers from other agencies, attended Stinger S-200 Instructor level training in the San Antonio, Texas area. After experiencing the effects of the Stinger S-200, there is no way anyone could fight through it. Everyone was immediately locked up. I attended the Instructor level training because I was skeptical of the power of the Stinger S-200 after watching a comparison conducted by Taser Master Instructors from CRT Less Lethal on an older S-200 model that is not even being sold by Stinger. My experience and observations of the Stinger led me to believe the CRT study to be false. I like the cartridge eject system and the smart technology behind the Stinger. If the Stinger and Taser were sold at the exact same price, there is no doubt in my mind I would purchase the Stinger. When you compare today's Stinger to today's Taser, the choice is extremely obvious. I also like the fact that the Stinger product line has been used over 80,000 times between real world use and in training and they have zero reported injuries and no lawsuits."

Cardiac Safety of the Application of Stinger S-200 Discharges was Presented at the Cardiostim 2008, 16th World Congress, in Nice, France

TAMPA, Fla., July 23, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Stinger Systems, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: STIY), a leader in electro-stun technology today announced that an abstract entitled "Cardiac Safety of the application of the Stinger S-200" was presented at the Cardiostim conference in Nice, France. Cardiostim is a premiere biennial international scientific event bringing together renowned experts to review technical and scientific news in electrophysiology, surgery and imaging.
Dr. Wayne McDaniel of the University of Missouri, performed a comparative analysis of the Stinger S-200, the Taser M26, and the Taser X26. Dr. McDaniel is a well-known researcher in this field, who has previously co-authored multiple papers in the area of electronic control devices. He has also served as a consultant to other EID manufacturers and as an expert witness related to EIDs.

The Stinger S-200 was applied 216 times to various size swine, and found no episodes of serious arrhythmias A second study of the Stinger S-200 compared the output of the S-200 to the Taser X26 and the Taser M26. Current going into the chest was considerably less with the Stinger S-200 than either of the Taser devices. Current, not voltage, is what is dangerous to humans.

Stinger Systems will continue with medical studies, but believes proper training of electronic immobilization devices such as the S-200 to police departments is just as vital. Like any tool on an officer's belt, EIDs need proper training and should be used reasonably.

Castle Hills, Texas P.D. to Purchase Stinger S-200s

TAMPA, Fla., July 21, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Stinger Systems, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: STIY), the leader in electro-stun technology, today announced that Castle Hills, Texas Police Department has purchased Stinger S-200 Electronic Immobilization Devices. Castle Hills Texas is surrounded by the city of San Antonio.

Officer Sill stated, "We analyzed the Stinger S-200 for about three weeks and believe that this is the type of system our department was looking for and needs. Although the department liked the Taser X26, and have had individuals in the department take the instructor course for Taser, I believe the S-200 is better in several ways. In comparison to the Taser X26 I have found that the Stinger is comparable and even more advanced than the X26. The Stinger is more user friendly and has features that Taser's models don't have or that they charge more for. We don't need to buy different cartridges for winter and summer, as you must do with Taser. The Stinger cartridge is shielded by the weapon itself, protecting the user and the weapon's deployment system. As you know, the only defense for an officer against a suspect with knife or club is his duty weapon. With suicide by cop becoming more and more common, officers need a weapon that can immobilize an armed suspect from a distance without using deadly force, or putting the officer in danger. I believe that the Stinger will be effective and useful for this agency. Stinger's best feature is that it uses batteries that can be bought almost anywhere. Taser international batteries must be purchased from them and the replacement of these batteries has increased in just the last two years."

Autopsy: Tasered teen died of heart attack 7:21 AM

07:21 AM EDT on Monday, July 7, 2008

Investigators have new informaton about the bizarre death of a Charlotte teenager who died after police used a taser on him. An autopsy report shows 17-year-old Darryl Turner died of a heart attack. The report reveals the heart attack was caused by Turner's agitated state and associated stress.

Back in March, police were called to the Food Lion grocery store where Turner worked because of an argument between the teenager and his boss. Police say Turner refused an officer's commands to step back and that's why the taser was used.

Turners's family has not said if they will sue the police department or the city over his death.

Stinger Reveals Invention of Medical Monitoring Circuit for Its S-200 Projectile Stun Guns

TAMPA, Fla., June 30, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Stinger Systems, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: STIY), the leader in electro-stun technology, today announced today that pursuant to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 26(a) it has been required to disclose the invention of a medical monitoring circuit for Stinger's S-200 Projectile Stun Gun to Taser International, Inc. (Nasdaq: TASR) in Taser International, Inc. v. Stinger Systems, Inc., that is federal district court case CV07-0042-PHX-MHM. While it has been so legally required to reveal this breakthrough circuit invention to a competitor, Stinger Systems, Inc. announced further that the actual specifications for the circuit disclosed are protected against use or disclosure by Taser International, Inc. by a stringent protective order issued by the court and that a patent application is pending for the technology. Stinger Systems, Inc. also claims the Tru-Data (TM), Tru-Record (TM) and Tru-Strike(TM) trademarks for the circuit.

The smart circuit is designed to automatically activate when police shock a violent suspect with the S-200 stun gun to monitor, record and calculate physiological data from the suspect during the shock. If a physiological hazard presents, the smart circuit will automatically reduce or terminate the disabling shock.

Stinger Systems, Inc., has seen increased demand for its products through the last and current quarters, has recently made a number of inventive technical breakthroughs intended to enhance the safety of projectile stun guns and officer accountability for their use. In addition to the Tru-Data (TM), Tru-Record(TM) and Tru-Strike(TM) technologies, these breakthroughs include the company's Tru-Pulse and Tru-Vu technologies.

Ron Bellistri, retired from the NYPD, Organized Crime Control Bureau and currently Stinger's CEO, commented for the Company, "This is, yet, another in a string of Stinger's breakthrough inventions intended to enhance the safe use of projectile stun guns. As stated above, though Stinger Systems, Inc. is legally required to disclose the new medical monitoring technology to Taser International, Inc., Taser International, Inc. is not privileged to use or disclose the details of this breakthrough safety invention. Taser International, Inc.'s X-26 stun gun continues to have no capacity to even sense a shock, let alone to moderate the shocking if a physiological hazard presents. The X-26 circuitry records when its shock circuit is energized, whether it is actually shocking a suspect or not. This provides no safety benefit against a possible electrocution. Moreover, this recorded information is of only limited value to the company, an officer or city in the event of a later lawsuit and may actually damage their trial position. Taser International, Inc.'s M-26 and X-26 Tasers continue to be unable to distinguish between an officer's activating their shock circuits to encourage a suspect's surrender with an intimidation display or the officer's actually activating the Taser to subdue the suspect with a shock. Certainly, neither the X-26 nor the M-26 can moderate the shocking current to prevent an electrocution if a physiological hazard presents when a suspect is being shocked. Only Stinger System's, Inc. owns such technology. Stinger Systems Inc. remains the only company on earth that has this amazing smart technology."

After making a killing on TASR on the previous bounce from 6.90 to 8$ and now it's 100% dead. It seems the logical choice this market is STIY.

Superior product, superior price, I guess the question begs why aren't they seeing more sales? I'm close to being a buyer at these prices.

Stinger S-200 Used to Subdue Stolen Car Suspect

Cartridge eject feature saves time

TAMPA, Fla., June 23, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Stinger Systems, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: STIY), the leader in electro-stun technology, today announced that DeWitt County Illinois Sheriff's Department subdued a suspect with an S-200 projectile electronic immobilization device.

Captain A.J. Monaghan stated, "On June 20, 2008, we were called to assist the City Police with a combative subject who had stolen a vehicle and was fleeing on foot from a traffic stop. As Deputies arrived, the subject was resisting arrest. Deputies dry stunned the subject with a Stinger S-200 which allowed us to gain immediate control of the subject without injuries to officers or the subject. The quick cartridge eject system allowed the Deputy to quickly eject the internal cartridge and move in to dry stun the subject and gain control. The subject was immediately immobilized. All Patrol Deputies currently carry the Stinger S-200 on-duty and we have two in-house S-200 instructors."

Stinger Systems noted that the cartridge eject system not only saves time, but allows departments to save money by not unnecessarily having to deploy cartridges.

Stinger Systems To Offer Taser Trade-In Program
Verdict Against Taser International May Concern Law Enforcement Departments
Jun 10, 2008 9:45:00 AM

TAMPA, Fla., June 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Stinger Systems, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: STIY), the leader in electro-stun technology, today announced that it is offering existing law enforcement departments that have purchased Taser brand stun products an opportunity to trade their weapons in for Stinger S-200 electronic immobilization devices in exchange for price concessions.

Ron Bellistri, Stinger's CEO, stated, "In light of the recent $6 million wrongful death verdict against Taser International, we felt we would give law enforcement agencies currently using Tasers a way to get their Taser products off the streets. Studies show that the S-200's waveform places considerably less current into the body than the Taser products. In my opinion, I believe the S-200 is just as effective, yet more humane than Taser. Therefore, for a limited time, Stinger Systems will negotiate buy backs of Tasers from agencies, depending upon their quantity, model types, and age of the Tasers. The buy back price will be credited towards purchases of Stinger S-200's, the most advanced stun technology available."

Stinger Systems Stun Wave Form Radically Different Than Taser's

$6M liability verdict against Taser not indicative of all stun gun technology

TAMPA, Fla., June 9, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Stinger Systems, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: STIY), the leader in electro-stun technology, today announced a statement confirming that its advanced stun technology is radically different than Taser International's.

A California federal jury in U.S. District Court in San Jose held Taser International responsible for the death of a Salinas man, and awarded his family more than $6 million in punitive and compensatory damages.

Bo Dietl, former NYPD detective and current member of Stinger's Board of Directors commented: "In light of the recent verdict against Taser International, Stinger Systems wanted to ensure the law enforcement community and the public that its technology is safer from a current input than Taser with validated immobilization ability. Stinger has made considerable efforts to study the older waveform technologies such as that used by Taser, that put considerably more amounts of current in the body than Stinger TruPulse products. Scientific analysis has confirmed that Stinger's technology places less current into the body per pulse than the older Taser technologies. Additionally, Stinger has a microcomputer that controls the pulse output, allowing a controlled flow of energy into the subject. Therefore, Stinger's first initial 'burst' of current is considerably less into the subject than these older technologies.

Mr. Dietl continued: "The public needs to be aware that the Stinger stun technology is radically different than that of Taser. When Stinger Systems began its efforts to develop a more effective and more humane stun product, our mission was to create a technology that would not dump as much energy into the body as the Taser products. A stun gun is supposed to provide members of the law enforcement community with an alternative to deadly physical force. If people are dying as a result of being stunned, then the stun gun does not serve its purpose. Police departments across the globe are beginning to realize that they have an alternative that, in my opinion, would be less likely to bring on lawsuits at the rate Taser has experienced."

Further, the Stinger S-200 projectile stun device is classified by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms as a "firearm" and therefore falls within the realm of the 2005 Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (codified as 15 U.S.C. Section 7901 - 7903), which protects the company and its distributors from the misuse of its products.

Stinger to Move for Dismissal of Patent Infringement Claims Filed Against it by Taser. Taser Early in Suit Sought Technical Info on Stinger's Less Current Tru Pulse (TM) Shock Waveforms.

TAMPA, Fla., June 9, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Stinger Systems, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: STIY), the leader in electro-stun technology, today announced that the "claims construction" or "Markman" bench trial in Taser v. Stinger (U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona Case) (Nasdaq: TASR) had concluded, and that the federal judge in the case will now be rendering her rulings interpreting as a matter of law the meaning of the patent claims that Taser alleges Stinger has infringed. Absent the judge's ruling, Stinger has, as a practical matter, been unable to move under federal procedures for dismissal of Taser's allegations. Stinger will however now move for dismissal, as soon as reasonably possible after it receives the judge's rulings.
In pleadings, Stinger System's, Inc. has requested that Taser be ordered to pay Stinger fees for an egregious case, implying that Taser's suit is both specious and dubiously motivated. Taser moved early in the case to discover information on the technology used to produce the Stinger S-200's new less power TRU PULSE (TM) shock waveforms, and agreed to an unusually restrictive protective order to obtain the information. Taser is no longer even asserting any of the allegations of patent infringement that it originally filed against Stinger, though the patent case continues.

Nationally recognized authorities on stun weapon technology consider Stinger's new TRU PULSE (TM) waveform to be the first fundamental advance in stun weapon technology since John Cover's invention of the Taser over thirty years ago. The S-200's new patent pending TRUE PULSE (TM) waveform shocks more efficiently (less current) than the waveforms of prior art Tasers. Therefore, the S-200's shock violent assailants with less electrical power to achieve comparable disabling effects with less pain. H.P. White Laboratory, Inc. analyzed Stinger System, Inc.'s S-200 projectile stun gun and confirmed its take down abilities, yet studies conducted by Dr. Wayne McDaniel of the University of Missouri found that the peak current of the X-26 (Taser) shock was on average 75% greater than the peak current of the S-200 TRU PULSE (TM) shock.

Commenting on the $6M verdict against Taser International, delivered on June 6th, Ron Bellistri, C.E.O. of Stinger Systems, Inc., and James McNulty, acting in house counsel for Stinger System's, Inc., made the joint statement. "No one has ever died proximate to being shocked by Stinger System, Inc.'s S-200 or any other Stinger product. Stinger System's, Inc., has never been sued for product defect or wrongful death."

"Stinger Systems, Inc. will continue to protect itself and its shareholders investment with socially responsible sales and advertising practices and by continuing to lead in the research and development of stun product safety innovations.

Stinger Systems, Inc. responsibly produces and sells its S-200 projectile stun gun as a firearm and dangerous weapon only for use by trained and experienced law enforcement officers. Stinger makes no warranty that its projectile stun guns cannot kill, but only that they are less likely to kill than conventional firearms, and therefore can be of life saving benefit when used responsibly by trained and experienced officers. Furthermore, manufacturers of firearms, like the S-200 projectile stun gun, have the protections of the federal Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, that is codified as 15 USC Section 7901 - 7903. The act prohibits the bringing of certain suits against firearms manufacturers for "damages, punitive damages" "in any Federal or State Court." Taser International, Inc.'s X26 and M26 weapons and its consumer weapons are not classified as firearms. Moreover, in pleadings filed in federal court as recently as last year, Taser International, Inc. has continued to argue that it is justified in having characterized its Taser weapons as "non-lethal." Stinger Systems, Inc. sees no reason for placing its shareholders investment at potential risk with such, in its opinion, totally unnecessary warranties and failures to warn.

In its safety designs, Stinger Systems, Inc. will continue to follow a research model that emphasizes the systemic effects of stun device shocks upon the human body and the demands placed upon the human heart by such shocks. Stinger Systems, Inc. is of the opinion that just shocking the heart in an insolated environment is not a thoroughly informative test.

These marketing and research approaches have been part of an early deliberated and encompassing legal and marketing strategy for both the increase and protection of the investment of Stinger Systems, Inc.'s shareholders."

H.P. White Laboratory, Inc. Completes Stinger and Taser Analysis

TAMPA, Fla., June 5, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Stinger Systems, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: STIY), a leader in electro-stun technology today announced that H.P. White Laboratory, Inc. has completed its independent analysis of the Stinger S-200 and the Taser X26.

H.P. White found that the Stinger S-200 stun technology was effective in take down power. H.P. White witnessed the S-200 taking down large, well-conditioned male subjects. Further, the laboratory submitted both systems to those portions of the US Department of Justice/National Institute of Justice law enforcement and corrections standards and testing program standard "Auto loading Pistols for Police Officers" that could be reasonably applied to "stun gun" systems. The study confirmed many of the specifications represented by the respective manufacturers including range and size. H.P. White found the grip length, off the shelf batteries, cartridge eject system and the price of the S-200 all beneficial features. Both weapons fired successfully and were found to be comparable in abilities. No significant features of the X-26 were found over the S-200.

Woodhaul Police Department to Purchase Stinger S-200's

TAMPA, Fla., Apr 28, 2008 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- TAMPA, Fla., April 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ Stinger Systems, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: STIY) a leader in electro-stun technology announced today that the Woodhaul, Illinois Police Department has purchased Stinger S-200 Electronic Immobilization Devices.
Chief Darren Jaros commented, "I had an opportunity to evaluate a Stinger S-200 from a neighboring agency whom is carrying them. After experiencing the effects of the Stinger S-200 and closely evaluating the Taser brand X-26, I easily came to the conclusion that not only was the Stinger far superior to the Taser, I like the fact that Stinger exclusively sells to the law enforcement community at a more affordable cost. I researched all the information out on the Internet and concluded that there is no current information or studies that reflect negatively on the new Stinger S-200 that I am purchasing.

After I took a hit with the Stinger, there is no way I believe any of the conclusions that were reached by some so called independent tests and found those tests to be an unfair and bias study that has nothing to do with the new Stinger S-200's.

Additionally, I think it is important to note that because our agency is small, we do not have the funds necessary to simply purchase trendy products without really knowing what we are getting. We needed to truly research and decide what the best value is for our department. I know quite a few agencies around who are excited about the next generation EID technology in the Stingers."

Taser Sued for False Advertising, Unfair Competition and Injurious Falsehood

TAMPA, Fla., April 24, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Stinger Systems, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: STIY) a leader in electro-stun technology announced today that on Friday April 18, 2008, it filed suit against Taser International, Inc. (Nasdaq: TASR) in the United States District Court for the District of Arizona.

The suit arises from Taser's alleged distribution to potential Stinger customers of selected portions of an unfinished National Institutes of Justice Report, containing dated tests comparing Taser's model X-26 projectile stun gun to early versions of Stinger's model S-200 projectile stun gun. As the suit alleges, the National Institute of Justice, itself, has acknowledged receiving data regarding newer more advanced models of the S-200 rather than the version one model tested. The study was commissioned in 2005, prior to Stinger's S-200 being even a concept. The version one model of the S-200 was given in December 2006 after repeated requests by the testing university to make a comparison. The current model S-200 has had almost every aspect of the gun redesigned including cartridges, probes, wires, and circuitry. Virtually the only thing that remains of the gun tested and the current S-200 is the name and the external features.

The suit continues to allege in allegations 30 and 31, "Taser has represented and implied to customers and potential customers of Stinger that the NIJ study is final and relates to the current design of the S-200. This representation is false and injurious to Stinger. Taser knew these representations were false or acted in reckless disregard for the truth or falsity of these representations."

The suit seeks compensatory damages, punitive damages and attorneys' fees from Taser and an injunction.

Mr. Robert Gruder, Stinger's President, commented, "On February 28th of this year, Stinger's litigation counsel Ray K. Harris at Fennemore Craig, PC alerted Taser by letter to the impropriety of its continued distribution of this incomplete NIJ report to potential Stinger customers and others. Taser did not take this opportunity to discontinue and recall distribution of the incomplete report. Stinger considers the necessary filing of yet another legal action between Taser and Stinger most unfortunate. However, in my opinion, I believe that Taser appears to not want to compete on a head to head basis. Why else would they resort to this type of tactic? Stinger is happy to compete on the merits of its S-200 stun gun's advanced technologies, quality and reliability alone. As more and more law enforcement agencies across the nation compare Stinger's newest S-200 projectile stun gun with Taser's prior art X-26 projectile stun gun, more and more departments are embracing the advanced technology of the S-200."

Illinois Police Department Comments About S-200 Purchase

TAMPA, Fla., April 16, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Stinger Systems, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: STIY) a leader in electro-stun technology today announced that the Henry, Illinois Police Department has purchased Stinger S-200 projectile stun devices.

Chief James Young stated, "After careful evaluations of the Stinger and the Taser, I determined that choosing the Stinger is an obvious and easy choice. I believe the Stinger S-200 offers officers an excellent alternative to other force options. I particularly liked what I believe is Stinger's superior dart spread, internal cartridge housing, and the one-handed quick eject button. For nearly half the price of the competition, I am getting a weapon that achieves a great level of immobilization while putting less current into the chest. As a Police Chief, I would encourage every law enforcement administrator to closely evaluate the Stinger and read through what appears a subversive effort to discredit Stinger by a focused bashing machine that has littered the Internet. Information such as partially released NIJ studies that were performed on S-200 models not even being sold now.

Chief Young continued, "Further, I am particularly happy to see Stinger's stance on officer safety knowing that Stinger does not sell their weapons designed for law enforcement purposes to the civilian market. I know several small and large agencies looking at making purchases of the Stinger and I believe the Stinger is the future of stun weapons."

transcript TASER

Stun gun safety issue, 31 Jan 2008

TRANSCRIPT Close
The chairman of Taser International adamantly defended his stun guns on Wednesday, telling Canadian MPs that his company has successfully tested them on more than a million people, including himself.
Tom Smith, who testified before the House of Commons public safety committee in Ottawa, said Tasers have been tested on 600,000 police officers and more than 400,000 ordinary citizens like himself, and no serious health complications arose.
Smith said the trials were done on all types of people, in the hopes of mirroring the different people who might need to be subdued by a Taser gun in real life. Some of those tested had heart conditions, while others were under the influence of alcohol when they were stunned.
Some of the subjects were made to do intense aerobic activity before being hit so that they were fatigued when they were shocked.
"I do believe the research that is out there today - while you'll never be able to look at every possible scenario that exists - certainly covers the vast majority of cases that exist within the human body."
The public safety committee is studying the growing use of Tasers in Canada, where more than 6,800 officers are armed with the stun guns. The committee will hear testimony from RCMP officers, customs officials and airport workers before drafting a report to Parliament.
The probe comes after Robert Dziekanski, a 40-year-old Polish man, died at Vancouver International Airport after being stunned with a Taser by police on Oct. 14, 2007.
About 300 people in North America have died after being hit with a stun gun, about 20 of them in Canada, the public safety committee heard Wednesday.
But Smith argued that in 270 of the cases, Tasers were determined not to be linked to the death. In the other 30 cases, the stun gun was listed as a contributing factor in the death, Smith said, noting that other factors often played a role too.
Armed with binder full of studies
Smith, who founded the Arizona-based Taser International with his brother, came to the committee armed with a 1,300-page binder outlining more than 120 studies attesting to the safety of Tasers.
Smith said 80 per cent of the studies were done by independent researchers and were not affiliated with Taser International in any way.
While the early studies were done on animals, 15 studies have used human subjects, Smith said.
He said ethical constraints have prevented some studies with humans, such as seeing their response to being stunned while high on cocaine or another illegal drug.
"In terms of the studies that have been done, we have not seen anything conclusively that has come back, scientifically, that has said a Taser has killed," Smith said.
He said Tasers, used by 12,000 police departments in 45 countries, have actually been proven to reduce the injuries sustained by police and the people they are attempting to arrest. Without a Taser, police could be forced to use a gun, or use physical force to subdue someone, Smith said.
"We've seen injuries [reduced] in Winnipeg, Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, Montreal, Quebec. Everywhere they've implemented a Taser," Smith said.
'I was assured that this is absolutely non-lethal'
But Liberal MP Ujjal Dosanjh noted that studies have emerged questioning the safety of Tasers. A Chicago study unearthed by CBC News on Wednesday concluded that pigs hit with Taser guns were left with heart rhythm problems. Two of the 11 pigs tested died soon after.
Dosanjh said he believes police should have a non-lethal alternative like a Taser, but he wants to be sure that the stun guns are, in fact, non-lethal.
"I was the attorney general in British Columbia when, for the first time in Canada, the device was introduced with Victoria police," Dosanjh said.
"I was assured that this is absolutely non-lethal, and that it would be used sparingly by the police, and I have now come to believe that it is riskier than I was led to believe, and in fact, it was not used as sparingly as it ought to be used."
Police not paid to promote Tasers
Dosanjh and other MPs also questioned Smith on whether he pays police to promote his stun guns.
Smith said Taser International has never paid officers to sell or promote, but in the United States, Smith said some off-duty officers are paid to train people on how to use a Taser.
In Canada, only two officers have ever been paid by Taser - one was paid to train people in Europe and another was paid to design a Taser holster.
Smith noted that his company spends at least $1 million every three months on legal fees, more than it spends on training.
