Prosoft Learning Corp. (NASDAQ: POSO), a technology learning solutions provider and the owner of the award-winning CIW certification program, today announced the release of CIW v5 updates to its Site Designer and E-Commerce Designer courseware. The CIW v5 releases of the "Design Methodology and Technology" and "E-Commerce Strategies and Practices" titles reflect the revised objectives for the CIW v5 Site Designer and CIW v5 E-Commerce Designer exams, respectively, which are set for release in late 2005. The courseware prepares students to take these exams, but more importantly equips them with the essential technical skills and knowledge they need to be successful in the information technology workplace. The objectives were developed in collaboration with the CIW Advisory Council, which consists of representatives from Hewlett-Packard, Intel, Corinthian Colleges, three state governments and many other blue-chip organizations. The council identifies areas in which there is a gap between the requirements of employers for entry-level jobs, and the skill sets of recent high school and community college graduates. The council then creates a set of CIW objectives to specifically bridge that gap, focusing on real-world advanced IT skills and complementary soft skills. "Once again, we have asked our council members to provide critical input to update our skills objectives, and they have delivered," said Benjamin Fink, president and CEO of Prosoft. "CIW v5 is the most up-to-date program that prepares individuals for the workforce, and is without question the easiest program to implement in an academic environment. We recognize that the future of IT certification lies within an academic setting, and CIW v5 was specifically designed to meet the needs of secondary and post-secondary institutions around the country." Dr. James Stanger, vice president of certification for Prosoft and chairman of the CIW Advisory Council, stated, "All of the CIW v5 courseware titles feature enhancements to the learning experience, including real-world scenarios using the Habitat for Humanity(TM) Web site, case studies and expanded classroom labs. Academic and corporate students alike will use a hands-on approach to learning the latest Internet and e-commerce technologies, and delve into discussions about common soft skills that have been a sorely neglected component in IT curriculum. In fact, no other IT curriculum comes close to integrating crucial technologies and business practices the way that CIW v5 does." CIW is the world's largest industry-standard IT job-readiness certification program. The CIW v5 Site Designer and CIW v5 E-Commerce Designer courseware, combined with the CIW v5 Foundations courseware released in May 2004, will prepare individuals to earn the Master CIW v5 Designer certification, the first completely updated certification track in the CIW learning series. The CIW v5 Site Designer and CIW v5 E-Commerce Designer certification exams will be live in late 2005. About Prosoft Learning Corp.
