Adacel Awarded Contract to Provide Tower Displays to NAV Portugal

Adacel (ASX:ADA) announced today it has been awarded a contract
from NAV Portugal to provide tower displays at three airports in
the Azores.
NAV Portugal uses Adacel’s Aurora ATM system to control traffic
throughout the Santa Maria Flight Information Region in the North
Atlantic. With this contract award the system will be extended to
provide approach and tower control for the airports of Ponta
Delgada, Horta and Santa Maria. In addition, two oceanic traffic
displays will be installed in Lisbon Centre to facilitate
coordination with Santa Maria centre.
This latest contract follows several successful system upgrades
that Adacel has implemented for NAV Portugal since 2004. These have
included replacement of all the system hardware, implementation of
CPDLC, radar functionality and safety nets and improvements to the
systems training capabilities. This new contract represents the
second order for Adacel in the past year to provide traffic
displays and electronic flight strips for air traffic control
towers.
Alexandre Oliveira, a member of the NAV Portugal Board of

Adacel and NAV Portugal are partners in a Project AIRE
consortium currently under contract from the SESAR JU to conduct
trajectory optimization trial flights. These flights are being
conducted through the Santa Maria airspace and into the adjacent US
controlled oceanic airspace where Adacel’s Aurora software also
provides the oceanic ATM automation capability.
