Market
The supply-side analysis breaks out revenues by five learning
technology product types: Self-paced eLearning, Collaboration-based
Learning (live online tutoring), Digital Reference-ware
(eTextbooks), Mobile Learning apps and edugames, and Mobile
Learning value added services (VAS).
"The substantial growth in revenues for digital English language
learning products in Latin America
is due to several catalysts," reports Chief Research Officer,
Sam S. Adkins. "Large-scale
digitization initiatives in the schools, language-related
educational policies, consumer demand for Mobile Learning products,
corporate demand for so-called vocational English, and the
proliferation of Mobile Learning VAS are all driving the revenues
higher.
The mobile network operators (MNOs) are now major distributors
of digital English language learning products to consumers in
Latin America. By the end of 2013,
there were 34 commercial Mobile Learning VAS products in
Latin America; 13 of them were in
Brazil. All of them license
third-party digital content from commercial content developers.
"Mobile digital English language learning products will generate
the highest revenues for suppliers throughout the forecast period,"
adds Adkins. "Mobile Learning apps and edugames have a growth rate
of 22.8% and Mobile Learning VAS products have a growth rate of
17.1%. Revenues for both of these mobile products types will more
than double over the forecast period."
Over 80 suppliers operating in Latin
America are cited in this report to help international
suppliers identify local partners, distributors, resellers, and
potential merger and acquisition (M&A) targets.
