KUALA LUMPUR--Malaysia's industrial conglomerate UMW Holdings Bhd. (4588.KU) said Wednesday it has signed an agreement with Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC (RR.LN) to manufacture and assemble aircraft engines.

"This agreement forms part of Rolls-Royce 's program to incorporate Malaysia within its supply chain in Southeast Asia," where UMW will build a facility to manufacture and assemble the Trent 1000 engines, the company said in an exchange filing. The agreement expires at the end of 2040 with an option to be extended for up to five years, UMW added.
