Elizabeth Arden Inc. (RDEN) has named former Proctor &
Gamble executive Rod R. Little as chief financial officer.
Mr. Little had been the chief financial officer for Proctor
& Gamble Co.'s (PG) Global Salon Profesional division since
2009. He also previously was the finance leader for Proctor &
Gamble's North America Salon Professional division, the U.S.-based
beauty-products company said in a statement.
Elizabeth Arden, whose products include Prevage anti-aging cream
and the celebrity fragrance brands of Britney Spears, said it hopes
Mr. Little's experience will help it boost sales and margins.
Previous Chief Financial Officer Stephen J. Smith had said in
August that he was resigning from his post in order to take over
the same position at organic-products company Hain Celestial Group
Inc. (HAIN).
Earlier this month, Elizabeth Arden tempered its expectations
for the fiscal year and then said it would withdraw those targets,
as it warned of lower sales and a weaker-than-expected holiday
season.
Chairman and Chief Executive E. Scott Beattie said the weaker
view was due to lower overall sales and higher discounting, as well
as a weaker-than-anticipated holiday season and replenishment
orders.
