FRANKFURT--Facebook Inc. (FB), Uber Technologies Inc. (UBER.XX) and car makers BMW, Audi and Daimler are all looking into buying Finnish network equipment maker Nokia's (NOK) location services unit HERE, a media report said Wednesday.

The three German carmakers have made a combined bid for the unit while San Francisco-based financial investors Hellman & Friedman are also among those interested, said German monthly Manager Magazin, citing people familiar with the situation.

The unit's book value is 2 billion euros ($2.16 billion), according to the report.

Nokia said last week it was considering a potential sale of the unit, which supplies digital mapping software to car navigation systems and to portable devices such as smartphones.

Nokia, Facebook, Uber and the carmakers all said they wouldn't comment on market speculation. Hellman & Friedman wasn't immediately available for comment.
