FTI Consulting Bolsters Telecom, Media & Technology Practice

FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE:FCN), the global business advisory

enterprise value, today announced the appointment of Todd Smith as
Senior Managing Director and Tim Hanlon as Managing Director in the
firm’s Telecom, Media & Technology (“TMT”) practice. Mr. Smith
will be based in Denver and Mr. Hanlon will be based in Chicago.

FTI Consulting's TMT practice and Merger Integration practice,

specialties within TMT, and each brings a wealth of experience to

Mr. Smith is an M&A specialist with deep
logistics and supply chain experience. He has more than 10 years of
experience in M&A planning, business operations and finance.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Smith was a Vice President at
Level 3, an $8 billion dollar telecommunications company, where he
led the planning and integration of various acquisitions.
Additionally, while at Level 3, Mr. Smith led the Global Business
Process team and held the position of Chief of Staff, a primary
advisory role to the Chief Operating Officer and executive
leadership team. Prior to joining Level 3, Mr. Smith was a Business
Operations Manager on the Operations and Logistics Electronics
Retailing team at target.com (Target Corporation). In his new role
at FTI Consulting, Mr. Smith will add deep operations expertise and
additional depth to the firm’s growing merger integration
capabilities.
Mr. Hanlon is a digital media and ad-tech strategy
and operations specialist. He has more than 20 years of
traditional, digital and emerging media and marketing experience
with a strong operations focus. Prior to joining FTI Consulting,
Mr. Hanlon was the Founder and CEO of The Vertere Group, LLC, a
Chicago-based strategic consulting and investment advisory firm
focused on the intersection of media, marketing and technology.
Prior to that, Mr. Hanlon created and led corporate ventures
practices at agency holding firms Publicis Groupe and Interpublic
Group. Before that, Mr. Hanlon was a Senior Vice President at
Starcom MediaVest Group, where he managed all client activity and
agency initiatives in the field of emerging media platforms. In his
new role at FTI Consulting, Mr. Hanlon will provide additional
strategy and operations expertise to the firm’s broadcast media,
ad-tech and media-tech clients.
Mr. Smith holds an M.S. in Management and
Organization from the University of Colorado, Denver, and a B.S. in
Business Administration from the University of Colorado,
Boulder.
Mr. Hanlon holds an M.B.A from the University of
Chicago Booth Graduate School of Business, and a B.A. from
Georgetown University.
