Target Corp. named a new chief of its 1,805 stores in the U.S.
on Monday, tapping senior vice president of human resources Janna
Potts to replace Tina Tyler as chief stores officer.
Ms. Potts, whose promotion is effective immediately, has been
with the company since 1989, holding various leadership positions
in stores, operations and human resources. Her most recent position
focused on stores and distribution.
Outgoing stores chief Ms. Tyler is eligible for $3 million, in
addition to her severance payments, with a three-year non-compete
agreement, according to a company filing.
Target's sales in core categories slowed in the third quarter,
with online sales falling short of the retailer's expectations.
Last month, Target completed the sale of its pharmacy operation to
CVS Health Corp. for about $1.9 billion.
Shares of Target, which have declined 8.7% in the past three
months, were flat in premarket trading.
