Finland's Nokia Networks said Tuesday it has been commissioned
to provide its latest Time-Division Long-Term Evolution Advanced
(TD-LTE) telecommunications technology to China Mobile (CHL).
It said China Mobile plans to deploy one million TD-LTE base
stations by the end of 2015, and Nokia Networks is the largest
non-Chinese vendor.
The new deal marks the third phase of an ongoing TD-LTE
deployment with China Mobile. The network upgrade and expansion
will see China Mobile offer wider mobile broadband connectivity,
extended coverage and capacity, and super-fast Internet response
times, it added.
