named John Weir head of its newly
formed Application Platform and Services group, a unit of the
company's Client Technology Solutions organization.
As head of the Application Platform and Services group, Weir is
responsible for delivering common enabling technologies that
enhance the productivity of application developers, particularly on
the company's new NEXEN digital platform.

digital ecosystem, it is increasingly important that we leverage
common services, which are the building blocks of the new client

Over the course of his career, Weir has worked in various
functions and roles across finance. He was previously the
global head of Middleware Engineering at Goldman Sachs where he
provided the firm's application development teams with the tools,
platforms and services required to accelerate solution delivery.
Prior to that, he was their Chief Technology Officer for Operations
Technology, overseeing the design and development of application
software.
NEXEN is BNY Mellon's next generation digital ecosystem
currently being rolled out to clients. It will consolidate business
