German industrial conglomerate Siemens AG and Spain's Gamesa
Corporación Tecnológica SA agreed to merge their wind power
operations in a binding deal that would create one of the world's
largest wind-turbine makers. Specialty chemicals manufacturer
Albemarle Corp. said it agreed to sell its Chemetall surface
treatment business to German chemical maker BASF SE (BASFY) for
about $3.2 billion.
