LONDON--Vodafone Group PLC (VOD.LN) and John Malone's Liberty
Global PLC (LBTYB) Tuesday appointed Jeroen Hoencamp Chief
Executive and Ritchy Drost Chief Financial Officer of their 50-50
Netherlands joint venture business.
In a joint statement, the companies said Mr. Hoencamp's
appointment will become effective Sept. 1, while Mr. Drost's
appointment will be effective upon completion of the joint venture,
which is still subject to approval by the relevant competition
authorities.
Jeroen Hoencamp is currently chief executive of Vodafone U.K. He
will be replaced in this role by Enterprise Chief Executive Nick
Jeffery, said Vodafone, the world's second-largest mobile operator
by subscribers after China Mobile Ltd.
Ritchy Drost is currently CFO of Ziggo, a position he has held
since September 2015.
Additionally, Liberty Global said Ziggo Chief Executive Baptiest
Coopmans will remain in his current post until completion of the
transaction, after which he will join the supervisory board of the
joint venture as one of Liberty Global's appointed directors.
In February, Liberty Global and Vodafone disclosed plans to
combine their businesses in the Netherlands, a joint venture valued
at roughly 3.5 billion euros ($3.87 billion), based on combined
revenue and capital expenditure after integration costs.
The deal is expected to close by the year's end.
