Fifth Third Bank Employees Provides More Than 800,000 Meals to Fight Hunger; Fifth Third Day Marked by Fundraising, Food Coll...

Fifth Third Bancorp today announced that its more than 18,000
employees celebrated Fifth Third Day by providing more than 800,000
meals to fight hunger throughout its 12-state footprint. This
marked the fourth year that all of the Company's affiliates joined
together to fight against hunger. More than 770,000 meals were
provided in 2014; 550,000 in 2013; and more than 340,000 in
2012.
Fifth Third Day is celebrated annually on May 3, 5/3 on the
calendar. For more than 20 years, the Bank has used its holiday to
recognize the contribution of its employees, thank its valued
customers and support communities where it operates.

to work together to benefit their local communities," said Kevin T.
Kabat, vice chairman and CEO of Fifth Third Bancorp. "It’s a
privilege for us to help improve lives by providing for the most
foundational needs of our community members.”
Fifth Third's affiliates identified needs in their local
communities and designed their holiday celebrations:
- Fifth Third Bank (Cincinnati) partnered
with the FreeStore FoodBank to assemble Power Packs distributed
through schools to ensure at risk children have something to eat on
weekends.
- Fifth Third Bank (Kentucky) employees
served lunch at St. Vincent De Paul of Louisville and the Catholic
Action Center of Lexington and also held a Feeding Our Communities
Campaign Food Drive for these organizations.
- Fifth Third Bank’s South Florida
affiliate held a Feeding Our Communities Campaign Food Drive in
April to benefit the Salvation Army.
- Georgia employees volunteered as food
sorters and/or served meals at three local organizations: Golden
Harvest Food Bank, Atlanta Community Food Bank and Atlanta Union
Mission.
- Fifth Third Bank (Central Ohio) is
sponsoring Empty Pockets, Full Plates collection devices at Port
Columbus Airport. Passengers helped fight hunger by depositing
their coins in the specially branded, secured boxes prior to
heading to their assigned gate.
