The Indian rupee declined sharply against the U.S. dollar in early deals on Thursday. The rupee touched 53.17 against the greenback, its lowest level since January 6. If the rupee slides further, it may target 54.00 level. The greenback-rupee pair is now trading at 53.1505, compared to Wednesday's close of 52.955.
