Foundation announced today a new program to provide $100,000 of scholarship support for students
pursuing a degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or material
science at the University of Pittsburgh
or the University of Minnesota.

students in their achievement of STEM (science, technology,
engineering and math) majors. We are delighted to announce
this scholarship program at two universities recognized for
providing students with the knowledge, skills and experience to
affect real change in the workplace and community," said

The Valspar Science & Engineering Student Scholarship
program is targeted at postsecondary students enrolled full-time
for the entire 2016-2017 academic year. Up to 20 awards of
$5,000 each will be granted. The
scholarship program will consider academic performance,
demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community
activities, work experience, a statement of career and educational
goals and objectives and an outside appraisal. Preference will be
given to upper level undergraduate students who have declared
majors in the eligible fields of study and have previous academic
research or industrial experience.
