Action (NJCA) and Ocwen Financial Corporation (NYSE: OCN) hosted a
June 4, 2015 borrower outreach event
designed to provide information on innovative mortgage solutions
for homeowners having difficulty making their mortgage
payments.
The dinner and information session was held for struggling
homeowners interested in learning more on how New Jersey Citizen
Action's free Loan Counseling Program can help homeowners find
mortgage solutions. Follow-up appointments with HUD-certified
counselors were scheduled for event attendees. Ocwen Home Retention
counselors were also on-site Thursday evening to talk face-to-face
with borrowers about their unique lending situations.
"Taking the first step to have your mortgage reevaluated can be
unnerving and frustrating," said Phyllis
Salowe-Kaye, Executive Director of NJCA. "NJCA is committed
to assisting borrowers in overcoming their financial challenges. We
partnered with Ocwen because they are a leader in loan
modifications solutions and they have demonstrated a commitment to
keeping people in their homes. We are thrilled that more than 70
homeowners were assisted through this event and learned about
viable mortgage solutions that will help keep their dreams of
continued homeownership a reality."
"New Jersey Citizen Action is one of Ocwen's strongest partners.
They are particularly attuned to the needs of their community and
they work diligently to find ways to keep families in their homes,"
stated Jill Showell, Senior Vice
President of Government and Community Relations at Ocwen.
"New Jersey is one of the top
states for foreclosure activity and our partnership with NJCA is
critical as we continue to explore ways to reach borrowers who are
still struggling to meet their mortgage payments."
Homeowners who attended the event met with HUD-certified
counselors and Ocwen home retention agents. They also
received:
- Assistance preparing their Request for Mortgage Assistance
(RMA) package;
- Information on borrower eligibility for state and federal
foreclosure assistance programs, and;
- Counsel on possible mortgage solutions tailored to fit their
unique situations
Those who were unable to attend, but would like assistance from
