LumenLab Launches “Rememory Stories” Platform

Free platform that captures family
histories
LumenLab, the Singapore-based innovation centre for global life
insurer MetLife, Inc. (NYSE: MET), today announced the launch of
Rememory Stories, a free platform that allows users to capture and
share their family history. The interactive platform is free to use
online and on mobile devices and is designed to make it fun and
easy to uncover, record, and share family histories.
“Her eyes would light up as she began to recount her stories. It
meant a lot to her that I had asked her to share these memories. I
cherished getting to know my mother in a whole new way.”
Sharlene, not her real name, is 45 years old and has lived
overseas for the past 10 years. Having recently returned to
Singapore, she is keen to reconnect with her family. In particular,
she wants to spend the time she has left with her aging mother in a
meaningful way. She is using a new storytelling platform, Rememory
Stories, which aims to help people capture their family stories
before they are permanently lost.
The platform was recently short-listed at Aging Asia’s “Asia
Pacific Eldercare Innovation Awards” for the Best Wellness
Programme - Community award. Zia Zaman, Chief Executive Officer of
LumenLab and Chief Innovation Officer of MetLife Asia, explains:

staying emotionally healthy.” In line with this, LumenLab developed
Rememory Stories to help enhance inter-generational connectedness
and help address the growing problems of loneliness, boredom and
social isolation among the elderly in Asia. “Rememory Stories works

the family narrative”.
Yan Ling Chua, 30, tried the platform together with her 61-year
old mother: “It was heartwarming to see that ‘aha’ moment when my
mother remembered the details of what she wore to a National Day
Parade as a performer, some 50 years ago. I learned things about
her that wouldn’t ordinarily come up in conversation.”
