Dow Jones News
Lockheed Martin Corp. said South Korea has formally selected its
F-35 Lightning II aircraft for the Asian country's F-X fighter
acquisition program.
"We look forward to supporting the discussions between the
Republic of Korea and U.S. governments in support of a final
agreement this year," said Orlando Carvalho, Lockheed Martin
Aeronautics executive vice president, in a statement Monday.
The U.S. company said South Korea is set to become the third
foreign country whose military has procured the F-35, following
Israel and Japan, which selected the F-35A in 2010 and 2011,
respectively.
