leader in the North Carolina
market and a close friend of the Bright family, will assume
Managing Partner responsibilities.
Melvin C. Payne, Chairman and CEO
of Carriage stated, "The acquisition of Bright Funeral Home and
Cremation Center provides an outstanding opportunity to affiliate
with a wonderful and highly regarded business and family in the
large, strategically attractive market of
Raleigh / Durham / Wake Forest. Upon my
meeting Betty Bright for the first
time, there was an instant commonality of purpose toward Carriage
providing all the support services needed to enable Bob, Betty,
Randy, Tommy and other staff members to continue growing the
business by providing the highest quality funeral and cremation
services available in the market consistent with the Carriage theme
for 2015 of "High Performance through Passion and
Partnership!". Betty
Bright said, "Carriage is a company that we can work with as
they have the same hard work ethic, professional values and
concerns for families that we do. We are thrilled to have
them join us as support partners. Randy, Tommy and I will
continue to be there for families in their time of need."
