AXA, a leading financial protection company, announced that it has received certification as a great workplace following anonymous, voluntary surveys submitted by its U.S. employees to independent analysts at the Great Place to Work® Institute, an authority on workplace cultures since the 1980s.

“I am very proud that AXA has achieved this recognition,” said Mark Pearson, chairman and CEO, AXA US. “The Institute looked in depth at our company, and they found key strengths in many areas, such as work-life balance and how AXA contributes to its communities. It all starts, as it always does, with dedicated, smart and passionate people and a culture of diversity and inclusion. Diversity is more than just a catchword at AXA. It’s a demonstrated commitment to bringing different perspectives to bear and making all feel welcome and valued.”

Great Place to Work surveys were sent to a random cross-section of AXA employees at all of its U.S. locations, producing a 42 percent response rate and a ± 2.82 margin of error.

According to the study, AXA respondents scored each of the following six categories at 90 percent or more: great challenges, great atmosphere, great rewards, great pride, great communication, and great bosses. The result was a 90 percent confidence level. A summary of AXA’s Great Place to Work findings can be found here.

Among the many other standout ratings, 84 percent of respondents reported that they were proud to tell others that they worked at AXA, and an identical number indicated that they felt good about the ways in which AXA contributed to the community. In an era in which work-life balance sometimes seems hard to achieve, 89 percent of respondents felt they were able “to take time off from work” when they felt it necessary.

The Great Place to Work certification is the latest in a series of workplace awards that point to AXA as a leading employer for workplace culture. For the third straight year, AXA earned a perfect score of 100 percent in the 2016 Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index. The index is a measure of how equitably large private businesses in the U.S. treat their lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees, consumers, and investors. AXA also sponsored and participated again this year in the New York City Pride Festival and participated in various other Pride events in the U.S. and overseas.
