LONDON--Aviva PLC (AV.LN) said Adrian Montague is to become
non-executive chairman after John McFarlane retires at the
insurance firm's annual general meeting in April 2015.
Aviva's announcement comes after Barclays PLC (BARC.LN) said
Friday that Mr. McFarlane will succeed David Walker, as chairman of
Barclays, following its AGM also in April 2015.
Mr. Adrian, who joined the board of Aviva in January 2013, and
became senior independent director in May 2013, is also currently
nonexecutive chairman of 3i Group PLC (III.LN) and Anglian Water
Group Ltd.
Aviva shares at 0850 GMT traded down 4 pence, or 0.8%, at 527
pence, valuing the company at GBP15.53 billion.
