American Water Names Deborah Dewey President of Indiana American Water and Michigan American Water

American Water has named Deborah Dewey president of Indiana
American Water and Michigan American Water effective June 20, 2016.
Dewey is replacing Deron Allen, who has decided to leave American
Water.
Dewey most recently served as the vice president of Operations
for Indiana American Water, where she led operations that provide
reliable water services to more than 1.2 million people in Indiana.
In her new role, Dewey will work to strengthen customer, regulatory
and local government relationships while driving operational and
financial results.

knowledge to this position with executive level experience in the
manufacturing, service and utility fields. I look forward to the

Prior to joining Indiana American Water, Dewey served as
president of the Growth Alliance for Greater Evansville, which
created attraction, retention and incubation projects that led to
more than 3,200 jobs in Indiana.
Dewey also served as president of Western Kentucky Energy/LG
& E, where she led 500 employees as the company transitioned
from a nonprofit rural electric cooperative to an unregulated
generation subsidiary of an investor-owned corporation.
Additionally, Dewey has owned and managed a company that
installed municipal water system infrastructure and has provided
independent consulting services in the areas of power generation,
strategic planning and cost optimization.
Dewey started her career at Westinghouse Electric Corp., where
she was involved in strategic planning and field technology
services. She also served as manufacturing and product general
manager at General Electric Corp., where she led more than 1,100
employees.
Dewey earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from
the Florida Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in
business administration from the University of Central Florida.
