David Unkovic, the state-appointed receiver for Harrisburg, Pa.,
released a list of entities that will proceed to negotiations to
buy or lease city assets, according to reports from the
Patriot-News and Bloomberg News.
He plans to negotiate deals next month and close the
transactions by June.
Out of 14 parties expressing interest in the city's parking
assets, Unkovic narrowed the list of 12, including a partnership of
Morgan Stanley (MS) and Central Parking Corp. (PK), the reports
said. According to Bloomberg, the Harrisburg Parking Authority had
2010 revenue of $13.8 million.
Unkovic will negotiate with four groups for sewer and water
assets, including a partnership between United Water Environmental
Services Inc. and KKR & Co. (KKR), the reports said.
While four groups are still in the running to buy Harrisburg's
incinerator, the current operator Covanta Energy Corp. has the
right of refusal to buy the incinerator, the Patriot-News
reported.
