PARIS--French heavy construction company Vinci SA (DG.FR) and U.K. rival Costain Group PLC (COST.LN) will build a tunnel to take out wastewater in the Scottish city of Glasgow.

The contract to dig the tunnel is valued at EUR105 million and each company will be responsible for 50% of the work, Vinci said in a statement.

The work will start in October and is due to be completed in early 2018.
