Synergy Brands (OTCQX:SYBR) today announced that Paula Deen Enterprises, of Savannah, GA, headed by Paula Deen, Food Network’s celebrity cook, best selling author and entrepreneur, has licensed Quality Food Brands, a subsidiary of Synergy Brands, to produce spices and selected food items under the Paula Deen Brand.

This represents one of the first grocery products that Ms. Deen has chosen to bear her name and likeness for distribution nationwide. Ms. Deen stated that “I am pleased to announce this collaboration with Quality Food Brands to produce my line of spices for the grocery store category. I am confident that they will produce quality products that are a value to today’s shopper.”

Paula Deen is one of the country’s most well-known and respected TV personalities and entrepreneurs. Ms. Deen is a two time Emmy Award winner and her program, “Paula’s Best Dishes,” airs on the Food Network. She has published 14 cookbooks; publishes a bimonthly magazine Cooking with Paula Deen; and operates restaurants under the name “Lady and Sons” and “Uncle Bubba’s Oyster House.” Ms. Deen also appears regularly on network programming including the Today Show, Good Morning America, Ellen, Oprah, Tonight Show and Hannity’s America.
