LONDON--Monitise PLC (MONI.LN), a mobile payments company based
in London, said on Wednesday it appointed a former Visa Inc. (V)
payments executive in the new role of co-chief executive.
Elizabeth Buse, who will join the company immediately, will be
in charge of Monitise's day-to-day operations, while founder and
Chief Executive Alastair Lukies will focus on strategy and building
relationships with stakeholders.
Ms. Buse, who previously served on the Monitise board from 2010
to 2012, stood down from her role as Visa's executive vice
president of solutions in March after joining the company in 1998.
She has been given 5 million share options on joining the company,
Monitise said.
Shares closed Tuesday at 63 pence (105 cents).
