Mercury Systems Launches Mission Computing Product Line
February 23 2017 - 4:15PM
Mercury Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:MRCY) (www.mrcy.com), announced that
it has launched the Mercury Mission Systems (MMS) product line to
address the immediate needs for safety-critical solutions for
mission computing, avionics and platform management in the defense
and commercial aerospace markets. MMS products feature not only the
highest level of design assurance but also a full set of supporting
software that reduces integration time and effort. The product line
includes solutions from the former Creative Electronic Systems,
S.A. (“CES”) located in Geneva, Switzerland, acquired by Mercury
Systems on November 4, 2016.
MMS products will reach a global customer base and provide
immediate benefits while leveraging 35 years of aerospace
experience designing subsystems deployed in applications certified
up to the highest levels of design assurance, DAL-A, for both
DO-254 and DO-178. These safety-qualified product and subsystems
solutions include primary flight control units, flight test
computers, mission computers, command and control processors,
graphics and video processing, and avionics-certified Ethernet and
I/O.
“The launch of the Mercury Mission Systems product line
demonstrates our commitment to offer affordable, innovative mission
computing and platform management solutions to a broad set of
top-tier aerospace customers,” said Ian Dunn, Vice President and
General Manager of Mercury’s Sensor and Mission Processing group.
“Together, Mercury’s mission computing and sensor processing
solutions will provide an unprecedented combination of
safety-critical and secure processing.”
A key advantage that Mercury Mission Systems products bring to
Mercury’s customers is a much deeper software stack for easier
integration. Unlike other mission processor and platform management
boards available in the embedded computing market that typically
are provided with only a basic board support package (BSP), MMS
products includes a DAL-certifiable bootloader, built-in test and
health monitoring software specifically designed for each board,
thereby reducing both integration time and overall deployment
costs. Mercury Mission Systems also provides a rich set of
equipment configuration software tools to help customers
efficiently assemble complex multi-processor and multi-FPGA systems
where a fast-loading mechanism and reliable version control of all
software elements are required.
