FRANKFURT--Deutsche Telekom AG on Thursday said Claudia Nemat would head its newly created Technology & Innovation department.

Ms. Nemat currently heads the German telecommunications giant's activities for Europe and Technology on the management board.

Deutsche Telekom will appoint a new management board member to take over responsibility for Europe. The board member will be named next week, the company said.
