British Land, BT Form JV to Provide Free Wi-Fi Across Shopping Centers

LONDON--British Land Co PLC (BLND.LN), a European Real Estate
Investment Trusts with total assets, owned or managed, of 16.3
billion pounds, said Thursday it has signed a digital joint venture
with BT Group PLC (BT.A.LN) to provide free wi-fi across its
shopping centers.
MAIN FACTS:
-British Land has also signed an agreement to work with BT to
find a solution to deliver a robust wi-fi offering at a number of
its open air shopping parks.
-A phased roll out program has been devised and customers will
be able to utilize the free wi-fi service from autumn.
-British Land shares closed Wednesday at 618 pence valuing the
company at GBP6.1 billion; BT shares closed at 282 pence, valuing
the company at GBP22.25 billion.
