AstraZeneca PLC (AZN.LN) said Monday it has purchased for cancellation 1,000,000 ordinary shares of at a price of 2993 pence per share.

MAIN FACTS:

-Upon the cancellation of these shares, the number of shares in issue will be 1.45 billion.

-Shares at 0750 GMT down 15 pence, or 0.5%, at 2979 pence.
