Exercise of Options

Alkane Energy PLC (AIM: ALK) announces that, pursuant to the recommended cash offer made for the Company by Barbican Bidco Limited on 16 September 2015, it has issued 7,022,180 new ordinary shares of 0.5p each ("Ordinary Shares") following the exercise of share options under the Company's Post Admission Share Option Plan, Performance Share Plan, Employee Share Option Plan and Sharesave Plan. Exercises prices and details of share options exercised by directors were as follows:

Application has been made to the London Stock Exchange for the 7,022,180 Ordinary Shares to be admitted to trading on AIM ("Admission"). It is expected that Admission will occur at 8:00 a.m. on 23 October 2015. The Ordinary Shares shall rank pari passu with the existing ordinary shares in the Company.

Following Admission, the Company's enlarged issued share capital and total number of voting rights will be 169,305,726 Ordinary Shares. There are no shares held in treasury.
