International stocks trading in New York were mixed on Thursday.
The BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts edged up 0.06%
to 145.04. The European index increased 0.12% to 143.12, the Asian
index rose 0.26% to 152.01, the Latin American index fell 1.19% to
215.69 and the emerging markets index eased 0.09% to 263.04. Among
the companies with shares that actively traded was Aviva PLC (AV,
AV.LN).
Aviva reported a rise in full-year profit and the British
insurer and asset manager also boosted its dividend, saying its
turnaround is on track to meet goals set for next year. Shares rose
7.1% to $17.52.
Delhaize Group SA (DEG, DELB.BT) reported that its earnings fell
during 2014 and said it will continue to further fine-tune and
roll-out the Easy, Fresh & Affordable strategy in the U.S. The
Belgian international food retailer's shares rose 3.9% to
$23.03.
Embraer SA (ERJ, EMBR3.BR) said its fourth-quarter profit fell
on a combination of higher expenses and less revenue. The Brazilian
aircraft manufacturer expects to post a slight increase in revenue
this year, mainly owing to its plans to deliver more jets to meet
continued demand from U.S. carriers for its commercial planes.
Shares fell 4.5% to $33.33.
