Loonie Climbs Vs Most Majors Ahead Of Canada CPI, Retail Sales

(RTTNews) - Statistics Canada releases Canada retail sales for July and consumer price index for August at 8:30 am ET Friday. The consumer prices are seen rising to 0.1 percent month-on-month, reversing a 0.2 percent fall in July.

Ahead of these reports, the loonie traded mixed against its major counterparts. While the loonie held steady against the yen, it advanced against the rest of major counterparts.

The loonie was worth 1.3038 against the greenback, 1.4629 against the euro, 0.9956 against the aussie and 77.30 against the yen as of 8:25 am ET.
