Wipro Wins ‘IT Provider of the Year’ Customer's Choice Award at the Payload Asia Awards 2016
November 10 2016 - 8:30AM
Business Wire
Wipro Limited (NYSE: WIT, BSE: 507685, NSE: WIPRO), a leading
global information technology, consulting and business process
services company, today announced that it has been awarded the 2016
Customer's Choice award in the ‘IT Provider of the Year’ category
at the fifth annual Payload Asia Awards. The annual Awards are a
celebration of excellence in the air cargo supply chain
industry.
The winners in the Customer Choice Awards categories were
selected by an independently audited online voting process that
represented the views and decisions of global customers, business
partners and Payload Asia readers.
Wipro was recognised specifically for its contribution in the
development and deployment of Cargo Reservations, Operations,
Accounting and Management Information System (CROAMIS). CROAMIS is
a next-gen cargo management system for the aviation industry
developed jointly between Wipro and Qatar Airways, through an
innovative co-funded model.
Offered in both "Software On-premise" and
"Software-as-a-Service" (SaaS) models, CROAMIS gives airlines and
ground handling agents an end-to-end view of cargo operations,
thereby facilitating better control over costs and enabling the
delivery of best-in-class services to end customers. The system is
fully compliant with International Air Transport Association (IATA)
initiatives such as e-AWB, e-Freight, e-CSD, Cargo XML and also
facilitates adherence to Cargo 2000 quality standards.
Srini Pallia, President, Consumer Business Unit, Wipro
Limited, said, “It is an honor to be voted as the best by our
customers. Wipro has made substantial investments in creating value
for our airline customers and CROAMIS, our next-gen end-to-end
cargo management system, is a realization of one such endeavor.
This recognition encourages us to bring in more innovation and
value to our customers so we can continue to be at the top of our
game, and build stronger, strategic partnerships in the
future.”
CROAMIS was successfully implemented a year ago at Qatar
Airways, the third largest international cargo airline in the
world.
Srinivasan A. T., Chief Information Officer at Qatar
Airways, said, “Qatar Airways has always seen technology as a
key business enabler. Our growing cargo business needed a scalable
and future-proof system that works efficiently and effectively for
all the stakeholders in the cargo supply chain, is accessible on
any device from anywhere and can be quickly configured to support
ever-changing business scenarios. To develop such a futuristic
system, Qatar Airways chose to partner with Wipro, a well-known IT
service provider with a strong global presence. The outcome is the
CROAMIS system, which within a span of 18 months has already
established itself as one of the market leaders in the air cargo
space. We take this opportunity to congratulate Wipro on receiving
this coveted award. We are confident Wipro will continue to be
recognized as the preferred IT service provider for the airline
cargo industry.”
