Valero Energy Corp.'s (VLO) Three Rivers refinery in Texas said
it suffered a power outage early Thursday that disrupted operations
and resulted in the flaring of gas.
In a filing to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality,
Valero said the flaring began this morning as a result of the
unexpected power outage. It said the above-average emissions ended
two hours later. It didn't indicate whether production was
impacted.
The Three Rivers refinery, located 70 miles south of San
Antonio, can process about 100,000 barrels a day of crude oil.
Representatives from Valero weren't immediately available for
further comment.
