Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) has reported a disruption to operations and flaring of gas at its refinery in Port Arthur, Texas.

In a filing to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the company said personnel responded quickly to the "process unit upset" in an effort to minimize potential impacts from the problems that it said began Friday night.

It wasn't clear whether fuel output at the 310,000-barrel-a-day refinery was impacted or if operations have returned to normal.

Representatives at Valero weren't immediately available Monday to comment.
