Sysco's Return to the National Restaurant Association Show, May 16-19 in Chicago, Features Great Food & Experiences

With a friendly focus on food, service and all that goes into
helping restaurants succeed, Sysco Corporation (NYSE:SYY) will once
again be at the 2015 National Restaurant Association Show in
Chicago at Booth 5607 in the McCormick Place Convention Center.
Beyond the food, show attendees who take part in the Sysco
experience this year will have an opportunity to gain some valuable
professional insights and take part in a celebratory salute to
those who serve in the military.
"Sysco is excited to return to the annual National Restaurant
Association Show and be part of helping restaurant and foodservice
operators to succeed," said Bill Goetz, Sysco senior vice president
and chief marketing officer. "It all starts with the food, and this
is a wonderful opportunity to learn from others and share our
experiences. We especially look forward to interacting with the
show attendees through our food specialists on the show floor,
through our daily culinary demonstrations, and at the special
events that we sponsor."
Fun…¡Espectacular! Lucha Libre
Dos
It starts on Saturday, May 16, with an evening of fun, food and
festivities at the ¡Espectacular! Lucha Libre Dos event at the Chop
Shop/1st Ward in downtown Chicago. Sysco joins Bay Valley Foods,
Mission Foodservice and CSSI Marketing + Culinary to present a
combination of action, entertainment and Mexican-inspired street
fare. Lucha Libre is a traditional Mexican style of wrestling,
featuring masked wrestlers ("luchadores") who perform complex holds
and aerial maneuvers. At the event, tastemakers and influential
members of the foodservice industry – including chefs, operators,
manufacturers, distributors and journalists – will come together to
cheer on their favorite luchadores.
Food… Fine Cuts of Meat, Seafood, Pork, Produce and
More
Each day during the show, a team of Sysco experts will share
their knowledge of beef, seafood, produce, pork, supplies,
specialty imports, and products for the fast-growing Hispanic
segment. These helpful professionals will be available to discuss
their areas of expertise and share valuable information about
what's trending in the foodservice industry. Some special prize
drawings will be featured, including a chance to win a bicycle from
Sysco's FreshPoint subsidiary, and a $1,000 voucher for Sysco
product and $1,500 Apple vacation gift card from Sysco's Hispanic
Segment Marketing team.
Insights… "Foodamentals Studio" Culinary
Demonstrations
Inquisitive culinary artists – professional, aspiring and
amateur alike – can get a daily dose of educational cooking
presentations at the Sysco-sponsored "Foodamentals Studio" in Booth
2388. Sysco-sponsored Foodamentals sessions include topics such as
cooking with by-catch seafood and how to prepare no-knead breads.
Additionally, in the fully loaded kitchen and demonstration area
within the Sysco booth, Sysco's team of chefs and guest chefs will
host daily chef challenges, resulting in an opportunity to sample
some deliciously prepared items from some of the show's best
chefs.
Salute to the Troops
On Monday, May 18, Sysco has teamed up with the National
Restaurant Association's Military Foundation to sponsor the "Salute
to the Troops" luncheon, honoring members of the U.S. military. The
event, held in the Grand Ballroom, will feature celebrity chef
Robert Irvine, who served in the British Royal Navy, and
actor/humanitarian Gary Sinise, who played Lt. Dan Taylor in the
hit movie "Forrest Gump." Sinise has long been involved in veteran
causes. In 2011, he formally founded the Gary Sinise Foundation
with its mission to serve and honor our nation's defenders,
veterans, first responders, their families and those in need by
creating and supporting unique programs that entertain, educate,
inspire, strengthen and build communities. The pair have worked
together and individually to help support the military, and will
share inspiring stories from their careers at the lunch.
