Verisk Analytics to Replace Joy Global on S&P 500

Verisk Analytics Inc. (VRSK) will join the S&P 500 after the
close of trading on Oct. 7, S&P Dow Jones Indices said
Wednesday.
The Jersey City, N.J., data analysis firm replaces mining
equipment maker Joy Global Inc. (JOY), whose shares are down 68%
this year.
Milwaukee-based Joy will move to the S&P MidCap 400,
replacing Thoratec Corp. (THOR), which is being bought by St. Jude
Medical Inc. (STJ)
Verisk's shares, up 15% this year, rose 4.8% to $77.47 in late
trading, while Joy's shares fell 2.2% to $14.60.
