Mills’ appointment follows Sprint’s announcement that it will
restructure the company into four geographic areas – West, Central,
Northeast and South – with targeted resources devoted to 17 top
regions, including Chicago. Under Mills’ leadership the company
will develop market-specific offerings serving the unique local
needs of consumer and business customers. Mills will assume the
responsibilities of Tracy Nolan, president and general manager of
Illinois and Wisconsin, as she transitions into her new role as
senior vice president of sales for the office of the CEO.
“Our new regional structure positions Sprint to better
connect with our customers and frontline associates so we can
deliver even more competitive offers through a localized approach.
We have been testing this local approach in the Chicago market for
some time now, and are extremely pleased with the results so far.
I’m confident that Jim’s leadership will help build on our success
in Illinois and Wisconsin.”
Kevin Crull, President, Central Area
The Central geographic area covers Illinois, Indiana, Iowa,
Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North
Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, western Pennsylvania, West Virginia and
Wisconsin. It encompasses more than 533 company-owned or
Sprint-branded retail stores.
“Sprint’s localization efforts have been incredibly effective
in the Chicago market. I’m excited to build on that momentum and
find new, innovative ways to drive even more success in the
region.”
Jim Mills, President, Illinois and Wisconsin
Region
Before joining Sprint, Mills served as vice president of retail
sales and operations at Vonage. Before that, he held a variety of
leadership positions at T-Mobile, including vice president and
general manager for Chicago and the Great Plains region.
