Boeing, Lockheed Protest Bomber Award
November 06 2015 - 10:00AM
Dow Jones News
Boeing Co. Said Friday that it had filed a protest against the
Pentagon's award to Northrop Grumman Corp. of twin contracts to
develop and build a fleet of new long-range bombers.
The team of Boeing and Lockheed Martin Corp. lost out to
Northrop for what is likely to be the largest military contract
award for a decade, and opted to challenge the decision after being
briefed last week by Pentagon officials.
Boeing said in a brief statement that it had lodged a protest
with the Government Accountability Office, which has a maximum of
100 days to review the case, during which time Northrop Grumman
will likely have to stop all work on the long-range strike
bomber.
