This is the third time Monster.com (Malaysia), a leading online and career recruitment solutions provider, is running the popular event, which is scheduled from June 22 to 26.

Combining a number of employers with vacancies for a huge range of jobs, the career fair aims to virtually connect local skilled professionals with new job opportunities. Leading companies from IT, ITES, Manufacturing & Engineering, Oil & Gas, Banking Finance & Insurance, and Telecom sectors are participating in the upcoming Virtual Career Fair (VCF).

Students and candidates across industries and experience levels will have the opportunity to communicate with top employers and speak with recruiters over Skype to find out more about available jobs. Participating companies will have the opportunity to interview and interact with a breadth of talent in an environment that optimises time and efficiency.

To start linking up with recruiters and HR teams from across the country and the world, budding job seekers simply need to register on Monster.com (Malaysia) and upload their updated resume.

5 tips to land a job at the Job Fair

Whether you're a fresh graduate seeking your first job or an experienced professional looking for something different, the Monster Malaysia Virtual Career Fair is a prime opportunity to network, connect and find job leads.

To increase your chances to land a job at the job fair, follow these tips and boost your profile:

Register and connect: Go to Monster.com (Malaysia) to register for the Job Fair and include all your current information. Make sure to select the 'low' privacy setting to let every employer see your resume. If you don't have Skype, install the app so interviewers can call you directly if they like what they see.

  1. Refresh your resume: As soon as the VCF begins, employers will start checking their inboxes quickly. Make sure your resume is in front and centre by putting the most relevant information at the beginning. If you're looking for career possibilities across a few different roles, consider writing a few different resumes and/or cover letters tailored to each type of job. Keep it short and edit out all the clutter. A more specific approach will help you stand out from the crowd.
  2. Update your profile: If your current profile on Monster is outdated, get it up to speed. Include your certifications, skills and any extra details. This will help recruiters to get to know the virtual you better.
  3. Do your research and ask questions: An interview isn't just about getting to know you, but an opportunity for you to know the company. Recruiters like meeting people who have done their research, so read recent news, understand what the business does, and prepare intelligent questions to ask the interviewer.
  4. Follow up: Like any interview, you'll need to follow up. Don't bombard them with e-mails the day after, but send a follow-up e-mail roughly 3-4 days later. It is also a good idea to send an e-mail 24 hours after the interview to thank the recruiter for their time and for considering you for the role.
