Mercer Appoints David Mooney and Gary Hartnett to Key Leadership Positions

Mercer announced today the appointment of David Mooney as North
America Health & Benefits Sales Leader and Gary Hartnett as
Office Business Leader for Health & Benefits, both based in
Charlotte. As North America Health & Benefits Sales Leader, Mr.
Mooney will have overall responsibility for the go-to-market
efforts of Mercer’s Health & Benefits business, including
Mercer Marketplace, in the United States and Canada. He will report
to Jim McNary, Mercer’s North America Health & Benefits Leader,
and Sharon Cunninghis, Mercer Marketplace Leader. As Office
Business Leader for Health & Benefits, Mr. Hartnett will be
responsible for executing the local Health & Benefits
consulting strategy, leading strategic growth initiatives, and
enhancing the Mercer brand in the local market. He will report to
Ellen Kelsay, Mercer’s South Market Health & Benefits Leader,
and Marvin Stokes, Charlotte Office Leader.

Mr. Mooney has more than 25 years of sales leadership and
consulting experience, having spent the past 15 years with Mercer.
Most recently, he served in a dual capacity as the Office Business
Leader for Health & Benefits in Charlotte and the South Market
Sales Leader for all of Mercer’s lines of business. He earned a BA
from Providence College.
Mr. Hartnett has 20 years of experience in health & benefits
consulting. He has been with Mercer since 1997, most recently as
the Health & Benefits Market Sales Leader in the Northeast.
Previously, Mr. Hartnett was the Market Business Leader for
Mercer’s Northeast market and the Office Business Leader for
Mercer’s Hartford and Norwalk, Connecticut offices. He returns to
the South market having started his career with Mercer in the
Washington, DC and Baltimore offices. He received his BS from the
University of Connecticut and his MBA from the George Washington
University.
