Contract Will Provide Integration and Technical
Support for Electronic Medical Information System
L-3 announced today that its National Security Solutions (L-3
NSS) business has been awarded an integration and technical support
contract for the U.S. Army’s Medical Communications for Combat
Casualty Care (MC4) program, with a ceiling of $117 million. Under
the new contract, L-3 NSS will expand its current engineering and
integration efforts to include operational technical support for
the tactical medical information system. The period of performance
runs from January 2015 through December 2019.
The MC4 system gives medical personnel quick, accurate access to
patient histories, ensuring that deployed soldiers receive
appropriate medical treatment from the battlefield through recovery
and beyond. The system also provides automated tools to facilitate
patient tracking, blood management, medical reporting and medical
logistical support.
“We have supported the Army’s MC4 program team through 15 years
of immense transformation. This essential program has helped save
soldiers’ lives and has ensured continuity of care for the
wounded,” said Les Rose, president of L-3 NSS. “We are very pleased
to expand our role, and we look forward to bringing even greater
innovation to meet the program’s evolving requirements.”
MC4 is an acquisition program directly reporting to the U.S.
Army’s Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems (PEO
EIS) in Fort Belvoir, Va. The MC4 Product Management Office is
headquartered at Fort Detrick, Md.
