SÃO PAULO--NetJets Inc., a unit of Warren Buffett's Berkshire
Hathaway Inc., will acquire 10 more jets from Brazilian aircraft
maker Embraer SA.
Embraer said NetJets converted purchase options into firm orders
to buy 10 more of its Signature Series Phenom 300 planes.
"At current list prices, this addition to the contract is worth
$89.55 million, which will be included in the backlog of the fourth
quarter of 2014," the Brazilian company said.
In October 2010, NetJets signed a purchase agreement for 50 firm
and 75 options of those jets. The total value of the deal may
exceed $1 billion, if all options are exercised, according to
Embraer.
Embraer has now delivered 36 Phenom 300s to NetJets, and
deliveries of the 10 additional aircraft will begin in January
2016.
